The Bloch Publishing Company has been a family-owned book publishing company for four generations. In 1854 Edward Bloch (1829-1906) established the company. His son Charles E. Bloch (1861-1940) succeeded him and headed the business for sixty years. His son Edward H. Bloch (1898-1982) subsequently managed the company for forty years.
